Schools in the Philippines and Thailand
Educational books, clothing and laptops delivered to schools and the families around them.

Meaningful change begins with individual action. No matter how small, every act of kindness carries value — bringing hope, restoring dignity and transforming lives in real and lasting ways.
lamp.charity supports individuals and communities in need in Thailand and internationally — essential needs first, then education and lasting improvements in quality of life.

To address essential needs while promoting access to education and sustainable improvements in quality of life — through direct action and collaboration with partner organisations worldwide.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”Matthew 25:40

Schools and families in Thailand and the Philippines — and a calling that doesn’t stop at a border.

We are guided by faith in God’s love and a calling to serve others with compassion, integrity and purpose. Together, we can create a lasting impact.

Providing scholarships, and supplying educational materials, books and learning resources to students who would otherwise go without.

Distributing food and clothing to vulnerable communities — sacks of rice, a hot lunch and something warm to wear.

Supporting sanitation facilities and essential infrastructure, and standing with a mission in Thailand that helps women and children caught up in human trafficking.

Donating laptops and computers to schools and families in the Philippines and Thailand, opening a door to learning and work.

Installing internet systems in underserved areas so classrooms can reach the world, and the world can reach them.

Christmas and New Year visits, gifts, and sports and music equipment for under-resourced schools — joy is essential too.

Educational books, clothing and laptops delivered to schools and the families around them.

Gifts, a shared meal — and a karaoke machine, because a school for the blind should be full of singing.

Supporting a mission in Thailand that helps, predominantly, women and children caught up in trafficking.

Sacks of jasmine rice delivered to families, and handed out through the parish at Christmas.

Standing with remote communities: sanitation, infrastructure and the everyday essentials.

A prayer companion for the phone and the iPad: the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet bead by bead, novenas, the readings before Mass and your own prayers — free, in fifteen languages, and it works with no signal at all.

These are the communities lamp.charity works alongside. They are named because a named place can be looked up, and because the work is theirs before it is ours.
Pha Bong, Mae Hong Son · Diocese of Chiang Mai
A parish church in the hills of the far north-west, serving the villages around it. Mae Hong Son is mountain country: the roads turn to dirt, the parish is the centre of the village, and what arrives has to be carried in.

Pai, Mae Hong Son
Its community hall, St Teresa’s Centre, is a gathering point, a prayer house and a cultural home for the ethnic minority Catholic communities — the Zomi and Chin among them — living and working around Chiang Mai and Hang Dong.

Fatima Self-Help Centre · 4128/1 Soi Mae Phra, Din Daeng Road, Phaya Thai, Bangkok 10407
The Good Shepherd Sisters have worked in Din Daeng for many years with women and children who have very little standing behind them — including those caught up in trafficking. Theirs is the long, unglamorous kind of help that stays after the visitors have gone.
Surat Thani Province
Specialised education, residential care and life-skills training for blind and visually impaired children and young people across southern Thailand — the school many of them live at as well as learn in.

Our own face painters. We take them along to schools and community days whenever we can manage it. There is no cause attached to this one and nothing is being taught: children like having their faces painted, and that is the whole of it.

Santa hats, a queue, and something to open — Christmas at the school.
Our own face painters. We take them along when we can, for no reason except that children like having their faces painted.
In December we go up to two small hill villages in the north of Thailand, as we have for some years now, so that the children there have something of their own to open on Christmas morning.
If you’d like to be part of it — a gift, a hand, an introduction, anything at all — you would be very welcome. And if this isn’t your year, that is completely fine and we mean it. We are a small team, growing slowly, doing what we can.
We remain dedicated to being a light of hope for those in need. By turning faith into action, we strive to create meaningful and lasting change. You can help.
